Terms of Service for Genius With Friends

By using Genius With Friends (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You may use the Service as a guest or with a registered account. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purposes
• Harass, abuse, or impersonate other users
• Attempt to cheat, exploit, reverse engineer, or tamper with gameplay systems
• Interfere with servers, WebSocket infrastructure, or platform security
• Upload or share content that violates law or third-party rights

3. Multiplayer Rooms and Shared Gameplay

The Service may allow public and private room participation. If you share room codes or invite other players, you are responsible for that sharing choice. Gameplay events, answers, and score updates are processed by the backend service.

4. Profiles, Scores, and Leaderboards

Your gameplay history, scores, and ranking may be displayed in profile and leaderboard features. We may moderate, reset, or remove data in cases of abuse, cheating, service errors, or legal requirements.

5. Paid Features and Subscriptions

If paid features are offered, billing is handled by Apple App Store and/or Google Play. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are subject to the relevant store's policies.

6. Service Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including features, match rules, or backend behavior. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including software, branding, visual assets, and content, is owned by or licensed to the Company. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works except as allowed by law or written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COMPANY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR USE ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms, abuse, security risk, fraud, or legal compliance reasons.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.

12. Apple App Store and Google Play Supplemental Terms

If you download the Service from Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to comply with all applicable store terms.

• The license granted to you for the app is a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to applicable store usage rules.
• Apple and Google are not responsible for providing the Service and do not provide maintenance or support obligations for this app.
• Any claims regarding the app (including product liability, legal compliance, or consumer claims) are between you and the Company, to the extent permitted by law.
• In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify the relevant store provider, and they may provide a refund in accordance with their policies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, store providers have no other warranty obligations regarding the app.
• You must not use the app in violation of applicable export control or sanctions laws.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
